YouTube timestamp notebook

Turn a lecture, tutorial, or interview into a small set of moments you can find again. Add your own timestamps and notes, then take the notebook with you.

Input YouTube URL (optional) · Video title · Manual timestamps and notesOutput Linked Markdown notebook · Plain-text notes · Structured JSON

Your source

Leave this blank for a manual notebook. A valid YouTube source adds clickable timestamp links to your notes.

Optional: Load player connects to YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embed, sharing network and device information with YouTube. It does not make playback anonymous. Your notes stay here. You can always watch separately and enter times manually.

Add a moment

Seconds, M:SS, or H:MM:SS. Enter the time manually, up to 168 hours.

Up to 200 saved entries, 4,000 characters each. Editing a note keeps its position in your outline.

Off by default. Saves the title, source, and added entries in this browser; the note you are still typing is not saved. Local storage is unencrypted and does not sync. Download a backup before leaving.

Device saving is off.

Start with a source, or add a manual note without one.

No notes yet. Capture your first useful moment above.

Exports include all added notes, including entries on other pages. Finish or cancel an edit before downloading.

    How to use it

    1. Add a video URL and a title you will recognize later. The title is yours to enter; this tool does not look it up.
    2. Watch in a separate tab, or explicitly load the optional YouTube player. Pause at a useful moment and type its timestamp and your note.
    3. Use Edit to revise a saved note or Remove to delete it. The list follows your entry order so you control the outline.
    4. Download Markdown for a linked notebook, TXT for plain text, or JSON for structured data. Enable device saving only if you want a local copy.

    A small example

For a lecture on feedback loops, add “0:45 — Define the system boundary” and “3:20 — What changes when the delay increases?” A timestamp preserves the context; a question gives you something to recall later.

    What to know

    • Timestamps and titles are entered manually. No transcript, metadata, or playback position is fetched; note links cannot verify that a video exists or that a time is within it.
    • The optional player contacts YouTube only after Load player. Its privacy-enhanced mode is not an anonymous connection; YouTube may receive device and network information. Some videos block embedding.
    • Device saving is off by default and uses this browser’s localStorage. It is not encrypted, backed up, synced, or connected to a Feedvault account. Shared devices and clearing browser storage can expose or remove notes.
    • One notebook holds up to 200 notes, each up to 4,000 characters. Timestamps use whole seconds up to 168 hours. A download is the safest way to keep a copy; Clear removes the saved local notebook too.
    For assistants and developers

This is a browser tool with visible, labeled controls and local processing. Read the usage guide or machine-readable catalog for supported inputs, outputs, examples, and limits. No API key or server endpoint is available. A catalog listing is documentation, not automatic integration with every AI assistant.
